These options are mutually exclusive and optional. If neither is in use, folder sizes are not calculated and a — displayed in the Size column for folders in the list. Both of these options require File Buddy to iterate over the contents of folders (though once done the results are used for both options), which can be an expensive operation in terms of disk access, so these options are off by default.

If the Show Folder Counts is on, File Buddy will display the number of files and folders as a folder’s entry in the Size column.

If the Show Folder Sizes is in use, File Buddy will show the total space used by a folder in the Size.

These options are mutually exclusive and optional. If none of them is in use, item sizes are reported in kilobytes, megabytes, or gigabytes as appropriate, as in the Finder.

If Show All Sizes in Bytes or Show All Sizes in Kilobytes is in use, all item sizes are given in the indicated units.

If the Show Sizes < 1K in Bytes option is in use, sizes larger than or equal to 1K (1024 bytes) are given in kilobytes, megabytes, or gigabytes as appropriate, and sizes less than 1K are given in bytes.

The default behavior is for file lists to treat packages such as bundled applications and documents as files instead of as folders (which is what they really are). Currently this only affects whether packages have a disclosure triangle in the list for viewing their contents.

These three options are mutually exclusive, but one is always in effect. They control the height of the rows in the List window. Larger rows accomodate larger icons and provide more information. Smaller rows allow you to view more items for a given window height.

This command opens the Preferences window and sets the current panel to the File Lists panel.
